Year 4s camp

On 29th of October year 4 went on a camp to Virginia Park Cattle Station.We did lots of activities and they where horse riding, swimming, an obstacle course, orienteering cattle
branding and cow milking. We made a BIG bonfire and roasted marshmallows in the bonfire. These are some photos:

Drug Awareness Week

This week we learnt about drug awareness. On Thursday Mr Ioannou came to tell us about medicines. On Friday Dr Rane came to tell us about the recovery position.

Writing a narrative

At school I have been learning how to write a story.I know that when you write a story you need to have an orientation, a problem, a sequence of events and a resolution. I have also learnt how to use direct speech. I know what a simile is and I have used one in my story.

Our visit to the Palmetum

On Thursday the 14 of May we went to the visit Palmetum to look at the environments and what plants live in those environments. There was the savanna, the lagoon, the desert, the rain forest and the wetland. We had clip boards with a work sheet to write on about each environment. The part I thought that was the most interesting was how the desert was hot because there were not many trees and the wetland was warm because there were heaps of big trees.

The end of term 1 2009

This term I learnt how to make learning fun. I had some trouble with maths. I improved my typing a lot. I had so much fun with everything. Next term I want to improve my times tables and spelling.

Improving

I have been Iearning how to type quickly. I have learnt this because it is a life time skill. My next learning step is I want to work on is my reading between the lines so I understand what the text says.
